This they claim at the front door…
Thirty dollars and you can have all you want
Just don’t leave bruises is all we ask,
It hurts business.
As for her name, there is no use for that
She is only as valuable as the amount she brings in,
After all, it’s strictly business.
We told her dad she would make lots of money,
The only hope at providing for the family
Oh how he sold her into the wrong business.
If she cries just let us know,
We’ll chain her up until future use
Those are always good for business too.
But the Lord claims this from His heart…
For free of charge I will heal every wound
And bind her broken heart,
For she is my beloved.
As for her name, it is written on the palm of my hand
And her worth can not be calculated by human standards,
For she is the daughter I delight in.
I will give her the hope that others could not deliver
And I will be with her even until the end of the earth,
For she is the one I formed with my hands and I make no mistakes.
I will wipe every tear from her eye.
And cause her eyes to shine once more,
For she is the reason I gave up my son.
